Pastor Beat Boys During Counseling Session

As if giving your Pastor 10% of your hard earned money was not enough control over your life, a pastor in Marrero Louisiana now desires the ability to discipline your child. Pastor Daniel Smith has been charged with cruelty to a juvenile and simple battery after a complaint was filed with the Jefferson Parish School Board regarding burses discovered on two young boys.
36 year old Pastor Daniel Smith was booked on child abuse charges after beating two boys ages 9 and 10 so severely that open wounds were noticed by school officials at Woodmere Elementary School in Marrero.
According to Fox 8 in New Orleans, Sheriff Newell Normand says the mother of the two boys, ages 9 and 10, brought the boys to see the pastor for what she thought was a counseling session. The following day, JPSO detectives were called to Woodmere Elementary School in Marrero to look into a child cruelty complaint.
A spokesman for the JPSO says Smith also beat the boy's 9-year old brother, but the injuries were not as severe.
Detectives interviewed the mother of the boys who said she often sought help from the pastor to assist with family counseling. She denied Smith ever physically disciplined her sons in the past and had no knowledge he was going to beat them.
Smith met with detectives on Monday and reportedly refused to cooperate. On March 19, 2012, Smith met with detectives at the Investigations Bureau. Smith refused to cooperate in the investigation.
Arrest warrants were issued for Pastor Smith.
Smith was asked to remove his belt from his pants prior to being booked. As the belt was being inspected, Smith reportedly uttered to investigators, “That’s not the belt I used to whip the boy.”
TJ a member of the Church Folk Revolution (www.PimpPreacher.com) says this is just another example of the absolute control demanded by this modern day crop of Pastors, and gives insight to the strangle hold preachers have around the necks of their members.
“First your money and now parenting power over your children – at some point this mind control spell over the Body of Christ has to be broken. More and more we are noticing Pastors overstepping their roles as servants and now demonstrating a slave master influence in the lives of their members. We hold at fault the pastor for abusing these children, and the parents of these boys for yielding that much control to a preacher. With all of the many molestation charges filed against pastors why would any parent trust their child alone with a preacher?”
TJ went on to say that a parent should never allow corporal punishment to be administered by a 3rd party, it leaves the door open for this type of abuse. Outrage continues to pour in over the abuse of these two boys at the hands of their pastor as many in the community wonder if there are any other boys who have suffered at the hands of Pastor Daniel Smith.
